Favorite Things / Hot Hula Baby Shower

This is well over due. There is this thing called Hot Hula Fitness. It's a work out routine, it involves dance, and movements of the Polynesian islands. If you haven't heard of it or tried it I suggest you DO. IT. NOW! haha (see video here). Anyways, I am instructor and one of my friends, Crystal, is as well. Actually all of us instructors here are really tight and came together to throw Crystal a baby shower.
The theme was "These are a few of my favorite things". We came up with a list of Crystal's top 10 food cravings (which have been chocolate and sweets), and ate them all with her (along with some other healthy stuff).

Some of her cravings... rice krispie treats, cocoa rice, nutella, candy, banana bread, cake, hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookes.... basically anything that has chocolate in it or any baked good. Oh, and sushi. ha!

The adorable cupcakes with a little hot hula baby!

They day also involved an impromptu Hot Hula session in the back yard. See those golfers in the distance..?.. upper left hand corner?
Yeah, they are from Japan and gave us a round of applause afterward. haha!!

I'm happy to say that Crystal had a healthy baby girl (in her van on the way to the hospital!) and she is adorable.

Flower-letts // table confetti

This just in!
Available in pretty much any color!
They are called 'flower-letts' and they make me happy.
It's a perfect touch of detail that will make your next party/event extra special.

Flower-lett Table Confetti

Spring on my mind

I'm getting really pumped for spring and summer to be here... more bbq-ing outside, roasting s'mores with our fire pit, and just being outside more in general.

I have a few projects in mind- revamping our garden, making tables out of broken granite pieces, planting grass and flowers, etc.

These images on my pinterest outdoor living board are getting me all excited.

Easter garland made from paint chips

I just realized it has been a few days since I last posted. Sorry. I'm up to my head in making party accessories for the upcoming craft fair. It should be a fun weekend.

In the meantime here is a neat DIY link...
If you are one of those people with extra paint chips around the house, then this is the project for you.... super easy and perfect for Easter.

Bumble Bee Party

I love everything about this party via imprintables

It's hard to pick a favorite thing about the party, but I like the smash cake and cupcakes the best.
You'll have to see it all for yourself here.

How to: Spring make-over

I'm coming down with a fever.
Spring fever.

We've had two Japanese paper lanterns/lamps in our kitchen for a few years now.
I really like the feeling and ambiance of lighting they give off,
I just felt that they needed a pop of color.

I saw this idea a few weeks ago on a blog while searching for new crafts
but I've long forgotten where the source came from.

But here is how you do it:
Let your imagination take you away and starting painting a bare branch.
The more spontaneous and less planned out it is, the better
Then add some flowers and fill in gaps with green buds and leaves.
Viola!
I used normal acrylic paint and plan to make small pink flowers out
of tissue paper and place over each painted flower for a 3D effect,
I just don't have the right color of tissue paper right now.

Follow this branch pattern if you don't know where to start.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland has been on my mind lately, due that the new movie comes out in a week from now. I really like the bold, beautiful colors they play with- very whimsical too- which, in my opinion, is what Wonderland should look like.

I'd love to throw a Mad Hatter -grown up- Tea Party in prep for the big debut, but seeing that I can't find the time, it probably won't happen. At least not before the movie comes out.

Perhaps for my 28th birthday party!?
Yes. I think so.

Here are a few items in the making. You can find them in the shop.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party Hats
"Drink me" sticks and flags
"Eat me" cake and sandwich sticks

Printable "Eat me" chocolate wrappers- favors
Alice in Wonderland name/ place cards

Makes me want to find a nice tea set and have a tea party tomorrow.

My new favorite colors for spring

I'm in love with these color combinations for spring time. Here in Hawaii spring doesn't mean good-bye winter weather, hello warmer weather... because it's always warm here... to me it mainly reminds me of EASTER! So these are the colors floating in my head for Easter time:

aqua blue, tangerine orange, and yellow.
{hence the colors for the main blog setup}
