Favor Pouches

I've been making these for a little while now, but only now decided to list them up to sell in the shop. They are the perfect size for a little treat for any party guest. AND perfect for Valentine treats. I just may be making them for my little 3 year old and her preschool friends.

I'll be adding different patterns soon- for baby showers, birthday favors, etc. So stay tuned. :)

Stamping cookies!
Genius.

This idea, from Country Living, is awesome.
Now I have a reason to increase my stamping collection (which I rarely use).

Cookies make me happy

...and it would make me even happier to go home with some after a party.

They make great party favors.

I especially like these picture below.

So, I purchased these two (1, 2) a few weeks ago in getting ready for my sons 1st birthday. Each of our guests will be going home with a homemade cookie.

5 cakes please

Well, if you can't choose what flavor of cake you want for your birthday, just do what Heidi did with My Paper Crane.... make 5 cakes to please your tastebuds!

Flavors:
-chocolate with buttercream
-chocolate mint with thin mint girlscouts baked in, and then crushed and dusted over the frosting (would be my favorite)
-chocolate peanut butter
-yellow cake chocolate frosting
-white sprinkle mania

She also said instead of party favors to take home, each guests just took home some cake. YUM!

Valentine Party

We're getting ready for a little Valentine's Day party on Friday for my 2 year old. We invited some of her friends to come over to decorate cookies, make Valentine cards, and have lunch. It should be fun.

We have too many empty baby food jars floating around our house, so we made these Valentine favors out of them. I spray painted the tops white and glued a tissue pom with a tag on top of each one. Then filled the jar with M&Ms and pretzels.

Some of the Valentine's we're making include these cut outs and a lollipop. (idea from here)

No party is complete without hats!
I've converted my daughter into a hat lover. Every time she sees me making them she says, "oooh, a party!", and then wants to try it on.

10 ways to reuse baby food jars as party favors

After raising a 1 year old, you quickly notice how many jars of baby food you go through (up to 3 a day for me). So why not save those cute little jars and reuse them for a party!!

We did it with my 2 year old for her 1st birthday and we are now. again, collecting jars to figure out something fun for my 7 month old on his birthday.

Here are a few neat examples:

1. Hot chocolate in a jar-. Turns out to be a perfect size for a fun serving of hot cocoa.

2. Candle holders- I'm not sure where I got this photo but I love the fabric used here to dress up each candle/jar.

 3. Fill it with a coordinating food/snack with your party for guests to take home.
These are "caterpillar food" jars I made for my daughters 1st birthday with the theme The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I pained the tops, filled them with cereal, then placed personalized stickers on the tops and sides.

4. Plant starter seeds/plants and hand them out to take home.
A friend of mine made these with her son's owl themed birthday party.

5. You can't go wrong handing jars out filled with candy at a baby shower. It's a perfect combo.

6.  Halloween party? ... dress them up as mummies or tea light holders to hold candy.

7. With Valentines Day coming up these are perfect!

 terrarium + tea kit

 9. Advent Calendar. I know this isn't really a party favor, but it was good of an idea not to post up. You could adjust the holiday from "25 days of Christmas" to "25 days of Birthday" (an activity or treat count down to your child's birthday???). Possibilities are endless.

At prudent baby, Jaime shows how to sterilized the jars, sealed them, and make your own tangerine marmalade. Yum! Makes me wish I had a Tangerine tree in my back yard.

How to: Make heartshaped flower petal cupcake toppers

I'm not sure where I learned this, so I don't know who to give credit to.

Its really quite simple
If you have never made them before, here's how:

You'll need:
-card stock
-lollipops
-hole puncher
-scissors
-cupcakes
-tape

*Take colored card stock paper and cut out 3 hearts about 1-2 inches in diameter.
*Next, punch a small hole at the base of all 3 hearts.
*Place your lollipop through the 3 holes in the hearts, arrange like a flower, and tape in place underneath.
*Place on cupcake.
*Eat or give away.
             *I'd eat.

Flyaway Favors

I know these are all across the internet/blogs, but every time I see them they make me smile.
They'd be perfect for a Halloween witch party, or actually ANY Halloween party.
Make them with Martha.
