Pinterest Challenge(s) as of lately

I've been doing well with this pinterest-challenge-a-week thing (trying to make/do something I pinned on pinterest at least once a week). I'm just not doing so well on posting them every week. Here they are as of late...

#1: From this pin Some really good and really easy homemade tortillas!

#2: Got my hair cut! kind of like this
ok it doesn't look exactly like this, but this is what I was going for (short layers)

#3: I made these and they were gone within 10 minutes
I baked them at 300 degrees using the convectional oven for 30 min, flipping them after 20 min.
Yum yum!

#4: This dessert was amazingly good! Honestly, sooo sososososo good!

#5: I bought this cute fabric (britten hus from IKEA) and thought of making something with it... after looking up the fabric online I found this!

so I made these...

Oh and we also made this play mat (created from this pin) during that day to play with our new "plush" houses.

#6: I started making this pillow (in gray) and decided to handstitch the coral onto the fabric (haha, lets just say it took a good week, here and there, to finish) but it's almost done now! Just need to sew the two pieces together and stuff.

 Up next for this week?.....

Well, my 3 year old is into puppets lately, so we'll give this a try.

What have you been pinning and doing lately?

What makes me happy

I have made hundreds of party hats and I just don't think I will ever get sick of them.
They just keep making me smile.

Real Parties: Dr. Seuss

This is what happens when a wonderful customer has a brilliant idea for a birthday theme, then comes to me and collaborates for some customized party hats.

Her theme was Dr. Seuss and I ended up putting together some
Thing 1 and Thing 2 party hats for the kids.

They came out adorable.
...and it makes me want to throw a Dr. Seuss party.

Thank you for the photo Rachna!

Favor Pouches

I've been making these for a little while now, but only now decided to list them up to sell in the shop. They are the perfect size for a little treat for any party guest. AND perfect for Valentine treats. I just may be making them for my little 3 year old and her preschool friends.

I'll be adding different patterns soon- for baby showers, birthday favors, etc. So stay tuned. :)

Packaging

I made a few necklaces (bought then altered) for some friends for Christmas. They were simple so they needed an extra special package to be wrapped in.

This was very simple to make. All you need is kraft paper, a sewing machine, paper doily and some bakers twine (or other string/twine).

Measure up your gift and wrap the kraft paper around it (I smashed and crinkled up my paper before wrapping to give it texture and dimension). Make sure to leave enough room on both ends to be able to make a zig-zag stitch with your sewing machine.

After sewing, place your doily where you want with a piece of tape on the back of it. Then string up and wrap with your twine with a tag attached.

This packaging would be great for Valentine's Day too.

The make-up holiday, Valentines Day

I look forward to Valentines Day, not for the chocolate or the romantic dinner with my significant other (even though I really do like those things), but to give or receive that one gift you were wanting for Christmas but didn't get!?!? You know the one? My husband and I tend to talk about what was on our list that didn't make the cut, or see something on sale that we might really need... Well, we now have a really good excuse to get it..... Valentine's Day! So here is to you, Valentine's Day... the make-up holiday in my book.

Here are just a few items stocked up in the shop for V-day...
